Notification for Post Quoted / Replied To?

Hey all,

Just an idea I have: over at MacRumors.com forums, they have Notifications for users - so, if someone replies to your comment, or you get a PM, there'll be a Notifications badge with the relevant links. I think that'd provide as useful and would be helpful. I always have to check and see if someone replies to my comment or not, so that would come in as very useful.

Many thanks!

As this is more of a technical issue than a TalkBoard issue, we'll move your query. Please see the threads with "notification" or "notification" in the title on this page.

When you get a PM on FlyerTalk, you should get a little popup window telling you so. Maybe there's currently already a setting that turns this on/off, but I don't recall (and don't have the time at the moment to look).

I believe it's been suggested before to get notifications of when you're quoted, but I can't seem to find the thread(s) right now where it was suggested (and a search for "quote" doesn't work). I'll see if I can locate it/them and put it here.

Edit to add: Found it - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...eplies-me.html

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but has the reply notification feature ever been implemented?

Someone replied while quoting one of my previous comments and I have yet to see any popup notification like other forums have. Can someone show a screenshot of what it looks like?

I appreciate the Quotes feature at
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/membe...=quotes#quotes

But I really only access it occasionally, when I stumble on to it.
It'd be fantastic if I could receive an email notification when something gets added to this page.

You want to know when someone quotes you?

Notifications for mentions (not quotes)

I managed to get rid of the notifications for quotes just after this started, but today I got an email notification saying "you have been mentioned..."

Is there a way to turn these off too?

But I did that before and managed to kill the email notifications.

Is "mention" a new category which is different from "quote"?

IBobi Apr 20, 2017 1:09 pm

Different, yes. New, no. Just set your Mentions settings where you want them and that should take care of it.
