Are those still going on being that you can't get 18,000 posts in a number counting game in OMNI any longer?

Maybe time for TalkBoard to consider a motion to delete the thousands of posts in number counting threads. Isn't that exactly what those did?

I made that very argument when we were discussing OMNI games and FT titles. Some FT Evangelists (posters with over 10,000 posts) have the majority of their posts from playing number counting games (I'm not one of those). You can't do that any longer now that those posts don't count, but posts before the cutoff date do.

I'm not a big fan of retroactive changes. The existing problem has been solved; if a few people have some extra text under their names as a result of past actions, no big deal as far I am concerned.

I like the idea of "FT Elite," but I also want perks to go with it:

1. FT Elite Gold should be allowed to post before FT Elite Silver.

2. There should be a special webserver for FT elites so that we can get into the website sooner.

3. We need a special FT Elite Lounge forum, where we can relax and talk about the FT Gomers and FT Kettles who keep asking dopey questions about how to get free upgrades.

4. We should have available FT Luggage Tags in corresponding FT Elite colors so that we can recognize each other in airports and avoiding talking to those with lower status.

5. We should be eligible for upgrades to bigger fonts. This can either be done on the basis of status, or by awarding FC ("font class") upgrade certs for every 500 posts.

6. Mods should greet FT elites by posting handle every time they enter a forum.

I think this is a very workable idea. Most of all, though, I think we should restore post counts for OMNI. :)

Plus, a 25% bonus post count for FT Silver and a 100% bonus post count for FT Gold. :D

This is starting to sound like an Amway sales pitch. Why are we so hung up on titles? For $5 donation to charity, make me Chief Dog Catcher and Ambassador of First Impressions. I'll take that over any reference to precious gems or metals.

Knowing what the Australian posters did with those titles (NB, PS, SG and WP) for actual status levels, do you really want to have them applied to posters? :D

As another poster has stated PTravel does have a sense of humor There are times that I think that OMNI post counts should be restored. However I'm not sure how that can be implemented.

Since the post counts from OMNI were no longer counted, I have found OMNI to be a much more interesting place. I post there more than anywhere else. I also have faith in my fellow posters, because they are no longer updating counts, they are talking about what they believe in (and most of the time without any animosity) . In the last few months OMNI has made me think much more than I have thought in the last several years.

If FT post count will score me an F upgrade, I want all of my posts to count.

Regardless of all these problems, I still hope to meet Spiff one day.
