The fact that we choose not to use it elsewhere isn't meaningful? We need to like it and use it and not want it here to be meaningful? Sounds like your just setting criteria to exclude those who don't agree with you.

I participate elsewhere with the feature. I don't fnd it useful there, so I don't use it. So I don't believe it would be useful here. Sorry if you don't put much weight to that opinion.

I have barely found any context where the "like" button is really good. There might be some, yes, but my vote here on FT is simply no.

I frequent other forums and some of them have a neat feature which FT doesn't use - an option to "like" posts.

Each post shows how many likes it has if someone clicked "like". It's a way of saying "thank you" for a useful post or a way of saying "good joke/nice witty comment".

Has FT ever thought of incorporating a similar feature to its forums?

Still mildly in favor, and also still don't get where the non-imaginary cons are. But mostly just amused to see the a long and contentious thread exhumed.

Internet Brands has some other upgrades to FT in the pipeline. This one is not near the top of the list, and I fully agree with that. I think the discussion revealed which version we would like to be able to try out eventually.

Given the like button issue comes up so infrequently still doesn't seem like there's a huge clamoring for it. My take is most FTers are fine w/ FT as it is & don't actually give two patooties re: like/dislike. They're probably more concerned w/ content.

That is the way I see it too. This place has been rich with content without the game of "likes" going on here. So this change being a low-priority (or no priority) for FT/IB is just fine by me. As true today as ever before.

Well it being a bad idea is entirely subjective, no? I also don't think a comparison to Facebook is a bad thing, I really like Facebook in fact.

From what I remember, the difference between support and not supporting this idea last time was pretty close. There are obviously plenty who think it's a good idea.
