eVoucher upgrade to First availability
I discovered my wife's Miles and More eVouchers have a 24 month life span so she needs to use them up soon. We have a flight on Swiss J, SIN-ZRH, but there is no availability even to waitlist for the upgrade. I checked to see if a miles booking in First could be made but that was not an option. There are 3 seats selected in First. Is there a timeframe when Swiss opens up upgrade awards?
Also she could not select preferred seats for the 2 of us in business which she did several times pre-Covid. The phone agent was not helpful. She is a Senator but I am only Star Gold. Has there been a change to the procedure? Thanks |

Call the SEN line again, you should be able to waitlist with evouchers & they should be able to allocate you seats, however LHG now prefer to sell the seats until day of departure or take the upgrade bids. SIN-ZRH is a very difficult route to upgrade to F
Seat selection is still a problem. Seats 4D & 4G show as available but 4D cannot be selected. Agent said the message was "Seat is unavailable. Airline has restricted access" We have been put into 10D/G so I need to read a seating thread to see if I should try for better. |

Thanks chris63.for prodding me to do another call. This time the agent was more helpful. We are now waitlisted with eVouchers for the upgrade. So a move in the right direction. We were lucky in the past to have the upgrade clear at the request time at least 3 times. Maybe my luck as run out.:)

The probability of your upgrade clearing does not depend so much on luck, but the route, day etc. Recently, it has generally become less likely for upgrades to clear on the SIN route, even less likely for a couple. |

Welcome, glad you got a better response & good luck with your waitlist
I also asked again about the mini business cabin. The seat map she looked at showed empty seats but, like before, she could not assign both seats. Seems odd that one seat out of a pair would be blocked. |

FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - LX Seating-thread re the mini cabin ("Stübli") - many are blocked for SEN/HON, hence 2 seats cannot be booked by the PAX themself. Also the agent needs to add certain comments, and not al agents know how to book multiple seats if only 1 is a SEN... at one time I remember, the agent could only enter a request and the India team later confirmed. on tomorrow's flight in 77W, the agent was capable of booking 4 seats in the Stübli, while only I am the SEN... so she had sufficient training. |

She said she put on the waitlist and emailed me an itinerary showing I was on the waitlist. Makes me think I was not put on the waitlist 2 months ago since I have received updated itineraries due to schedule changes but none of those itineraries showed a waitlist for this flight.

You were not on the waitlist if updated itineraries did not show the waitlist….

What may also have happened though is that the OP was waitlisted and the upgrade immediately did not clear. For example if it wasn't sent to the SEN queue but the regular one. Happened to me a once or twice (even with the HON line, people do make mistakes).

Hi, I'm on a wait list for the ZRH DXB flight at a Friday in July with LX for two seats to F sind 10 days. The flight is low booked (F8 A8 J9 C9 D9 Z9 P9 Y9 B9 M9 U9 H9 Q9 V9 W0 S0 T0 L0 K0) as the vouchers expires at 30.03.2024 i would like to know what do you think... THANKS!

In my view they block it on purpose until the beginning of April.

well that is what I'm also thinking.... Interesting as the DXB rout specially in summer is very low.

Called and spoke to three agents. Forget it! Answers as: I can't do anything. That is not possible. You are on the wait list in position one it will be cleared once there is availability.
And of course i told him it hat 8 seats free on a Friday flight, but no chance. I think the 4 vouchers will be burned. |
