ask the MdC on board to price it for you, that might be your best shot. Don't think they will upgrade an I-class ticket at the airport without an oversell situation.

Last miles Y to C offer I got from LX MdC was MAD-ZRH for only 750 CHF.

Was offered 1499 CHF for C(P) to F upgrade on BKK-ZRH a few days ahead of the flight by personal email from LX. Basically the fare difference. Was not interested.
What was interesting though that Expertflyer showed F1A0 and in line there was only a single seat that was not reserved. In contrast, C appeared pretty empty (J9C9D9Z9P0)

I think justsawaufo was just making a joke about how expensive an upgrade is for an award ticket.

I'm on a P fare from MUC->SFO that I got for ~$900 RT. I'll try to see what the upgrade price is, am expecting it to be north of 3K USD.

P to F for 1500 CHF is a very decent offer ....what do you think would be a more appropriate amount?
