How it is 'awesome'?
Seems to make no difference to final post when I use it right now.

It is awesome FOR ME when I type a large reply as I can now see an entire page filled entry box instead of just 15 lines and need to scroll up and down a lot.

I never needed any special feature to read or type them either.
When some REALLY useful bells and whistles have been turned off to speed up FT, at the same time Admin adds "awesome" ones like this.
Must make sense to someone I guess.

2) This feature does not perform any database queries so does not increase the load on FT AT ALL. The function adds no more than one or 2 lines of code.
3) The FT tech staff have a really good reason for turning off some of those "bells and whistles" and have posted their reasons several times.
Sometimes, if you don't know what you are talking about, it is best to not talk at all
