Value of old threads

I know I'm free to use whatever time period I want to use for reading a thread, but has there ever been any thought given to reducing the size of some of these older threads? I'm seeing that a lot of information is very outdated and/or correct. If a thread is 30 pages long, should I start at 15 or 20 or 30? It's hard to know what's still timely and what is not. It may be too laborious for mods to do that but I'm just curious if that's a possibility.

If the long-waited wikipost feature had been activated and/or added on FT, you wouldn't have seen that problem. It has been suggested for more than 3 years but no action has been taken by the tech front.

We had some discussion of this on the Talk Board forum and saw some very positive results on the UA forum afterward. You might want to read over this thread:

'Mega-threads' are out of control. What can the TB do to fix it?
