SPG has issues posting AMEX SPG card earnings
For those who have their AMEX SPG cards with statement closing dates since Feb 22 or 23, you may want to check if your SPG accounts have posted the Feb statement earnings. This is a heads up that SPG is having issues to receiving the points transferred from AMEX.
Currently there is no estimated time on when this would be fixed, or worse, reps seem not even aware of such issues exist.
We all know it usually takes 1 to 2 business days after the statement close date to see the AMEX card earning showing in the SPG accounts.
However my husband's SPG biz card statement closed on Feb 23rd but as of today Mar 1st, the regular earning points are still a no show in the SPG account. Upon chatting with AMEX online chat rep, he showed AMEX internal record has transfer the points to SPG on Feb 25, with 2 attempts but there is no indication showing "Accepted by the partner" confirmation which can be seen in Jan and Dec "sends".
The way it works, AMEX transfer the points to SPG within 24 to 48 hours after statement close. SPG accepts it and then posts to the member's account. Then SPG sends back a message to AMEX to confirm the receipt of the points. The Feb transfer is missing the SPG Acceptance. AMEX chat rep said the issues lied with SPG so nothing they could do about it. From the info he copied and pasted during the chat, AMEX actually attempted to send it a second time. He also said SPG was aware of the issue.
Unfortunately when I called SPG after the AMEX chat, the front line SPG rep has no clue of there are issues. After conferring with her supervisor, they still dont seem to have a clue, and ask me an AMEX reference number. Well, there is no such reference number. I plan to send SPG an email via Contact Us and hope it would reach the correct dept so someone could look into the matter.
My own card has statement date on Feb 21, and the earning points posted in SPG account on Feb 23. AMEX rep said the SPG issue(s) have impacted "a few" SPG accounts but not all. So husband is among the unlucky few who now have to chase the points that are somehow lost in the cyber blackhole.

In this case, perhaps this is due to February having only 28 days. Therefore your closing date may have been later in March so that Amex could get the normal 30-31 days in the statement cycle.
