Different check-in dates

I'm booking 2 award rooms (my account) for a 1-night stay with the in-laws (a Sheraton in Argentina). They're checking in 1 day prior to me.

Should I book:
A 2-night stay for their room + a 1-night stay for my room (and include one of their names as a second guest)

or

A 1 night stay for the night when I'm not there + a 1 night stay for both rooms?

Will they have any issues at check in? And how many nights' credit should I expect to receive?

Hi Rafka,

For award reservation, you can add the actual guests' names in the note of the reservation. There should be no issue for them to check in.

You would receive two nights credit as you only stay one night with your guests.

Can I say that I love this benefit as it is very fair IMO. I'm hoping to push to 75 nights this year.

Just completed a two-room stay under two confirmation codes [one was mine, the other for a friend who joined later] and currently in the middle of a similar two-room stay. I got double stay/night credits for the previous stay but only points from one room, with the other appearing as “+0 SPG Award Stay” despite booking a best available rate for that room.

Will have to see what happens in two days when the credits from this stay post, but any input? Is this standard/do I receive points from the room I stay in only?

Thanks, guys.

Hi khabah,

You can send a copy of your hotel folio to [email protected] so that the team can review and rectify the stay credit if it was not posted correctly.

Hi Christina,

Thanks for the note. Just checked my account and an adjustment has been made where there are now two separate entries for stays and requisite elite bonuses, but 537 points have gone missing. 500 of those are Make A Green Choice points from my room which had previously posted; the other 37 were Uber bonus points from using Uber during my stay.

How curious. Will wait a few hours to see if the MAGC/Uber bonus points post otherwise an e-mail to the Research department might be in order.
