Odd RTW availability issue
I'm trying to book a RTW for a client and he wants to fly on an SQ A380 SIN-SYD. ExpertFlyer shows D4, SQ tells me there is availability, but UA says nope, D0.
Anyone have any insights into why this would be? They don't use Starnet to block inventory for paid tickets, do they? My client is willing to pay the surcharge and I would prefer to book through the 1K desk instead of SQ's ICC. |

What's the flight #/date? |
SQ 221 20 Jun 2009.
I'll have to do some reading about that... first time I've encountered it. Thanks. |

Thanks again to you both- always great to learn something new. Will call SFO and get him ticketed.

I ran into *exactly* the same problem two days ago. Checked through both UA and NZ, both saw the seat available, but when they added it to the record came back UC from SQ. SQ showed it open. W.t.f.? Is this this seriously censoring w.t.f. now? I plan to just start the trip and force SQ to make the change to the 016 ticket after departure.

I had the same problem about 6 month ago with the 380 flights. The LH codeshae had seats in D, so my travel agent booked them.

Oddly enough, this was a NZ ticket and today I resolved the problem when I was on the phone with UA. Found an agent who was friendly and willing to check availability, it showed available again, she requested it and it came back confirmed, in spite of the fact that NZ, 5 minutes earlier, had failed. NZ was not thrilled that UA had put an SQ flight into an NZ record, had trouble finding it, but, eventually did, and now the ticket is parfait! |
Now I've got a new twist to my problem. SQ showed them in D, but now says they don't have them and they want to waitlist. ExpertFlyer still shows D4. I'll try that codeshare trick.
