Does it matter if i put my miles with a star carrier other than my gold carrier? I was once refused access by SQ during 55555 because i was putting the miles with SQ and my gold status was with UA. The projected route is BJS-ICN_SYD on Asiana when the person has gold with CA and wishes to put the miles with UA.

Should not matter. But you will need to show your *G card to get entry to the lounge (as it will not show on the BP).
so it would be safe to put the UA number in the PNR? or safer to leave it out altogether and claim miles retrospectively? I was thinking the person could just leave it out and if challenged, say he hadnt decided which ff prog to put them with yet.

Except in many cases, even though the *A rule is clear, even though the lounge will feature the *A Gold logo and one has the *A Gold card, lounge dragons will direct you to some other lounge. Especially in CDG! But certainly not the unique exception.

Last November I was flying LHR-DAM on BD. After hanging out in the BD lounge for a while I wandered over to T2. The LH gatekeepers wouldn't let me in saying I was in the wrong terminal and that you had to be flying in T2 to use your *G rights in a T2 lounge
