last time I asked, the CRTWSTAR1 was about USD 5100+taxes. This may have changed lately.

The last time I did SEA to ktm was : SEA-ORD-NYC-BKK-KTM :D , given that I wanted to be in the NYC-BKK non-stop.

Generally, for *A carriers, all routings into KTM will be via BKK. So SEA-ICN-BKK-KTM, SEA-NRT-BKK-KTM and SEA-LAX-BKK-KTM would work. Or the really long way via Europe, Austrian flies seasonally from VIE. TG and OS are the only STAR carriers into Kathmandu.

For non-star, you can fly CX / RA via HKG. Or fly to DEL on most major carriers via Europe or AA & CO non-stop from the east-coast and then to KTM on another bunch of carriers (IC, 9W, RA, S2, F5, KB and soon UL). Though i generally don't advise friends to transit in DEL. :p

Another option is QR via DOH. Will work out to be SEA-LHR-DOH-KTM. You get UA/LH miles with QR.

thanks

Yeah, only The TG LAX flights are timed perfectly. 45 minutes in BKK KTM-BKK-LAX, and about 4.5 hrs in BKK on LAX-BKK-KTM.

Otherwise, most flights will involve some kind of overnighting in BKK either inbound or outbound, unless arriving/departing via Europe.

thanks
