Ticket nesting - a basic question
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but here goes. I am planning a trip from the UK to Australia, and, for various reasons, was thinking of doing the following: namely, getting a C class return LHR-SIN on LH, and, separately, buying a Y class return SIN-MEL on SQ.
However, I'm a bit unsure about the rules surrounding nested tickets and the like. In a sane world, the above plan should be ok, but is either airline likely to object? Any thoughts gratefully received. |
So long as the tickets are from different airlines you won't have a problem with the nesting aspect. The only potential issue is if you are making a connection between the two airlines you won't have as much recourse in the event of problems.

Is there any likelihood that I could interline baggage? No big deal if not, but it would be nice. |

Bear in mind that you'd be subjected to economy class baggage limits when checking in at MEL though since MEL-SIN on SQ is booked in economy. |
