How does one get to FRU
My home base is YYZ (Toronto) and I'm heading to FRU (Bishkek) (will be in business class).
1. Are there any *A flying there? (online info seemed to be updated)
2. Is it better to fly through Pacific or Atlantic Ocean if I want to maximize *A miles?
The best routing I have so far is YYZ-FRA (LH) -ALA (LH) -FRU (on a bus). The roundtrip will net me 14250 miles * 25% COS = 17813 miles.
Help!

BA is the only western european airline serving FRU, operated by British Mediterranean with a A321 (only european business class seats) stopping in Baku (doesn't sound like fun for an overnight flight)
Other "known" airlines serving FRU are Aeroflot, Turkish Airlines and China Southern.
If you want to max out *A miles and fly directly into FRU, you could go YYZ-PEK with *A, PEK-Urumqi with Air China (credit miles to UAL MP) and Urumqi-FRU with China Southern (credit miles to Delta/Northwest/Flying Blue)
You could go YYZ-...-ICN-ALA as well for more *A miles. ICN-ALA is operated by OZ only on thursdays.
Another option would be a *RTW YYZ-FRA-ALA-ICN-...-YYZ (maybe the cheapest option as well)

Good luck using miles to get there...US still doesnt recognize this as a destination that can be reached for the 90k North Asia award since it can only be reached via TATL travel...they want to force it into the 100k realm.

Try HY TAS-FRU. I did this a month ago and apart from the 0535 departure, it was fine. RJ85 that was one third full. Full serve breakfast in a plastic box. Everything worked and was as good as any western operation. The only problem was TAS airport which is an exercise in imagination and endurance. Inadequate signage and multiple passport checks. On no account should you declare you are carrying more foreign currency out than you bring in (this is possible because some hotel ATMs give out USD cash -a godsend in Central Asia). FRU airport is modern and efficient compared with TAS. At FRU check out how much heavy metal belonging to the USAF is hanging around. There is an ATM at FRU airport that takes foreign credit cards.
