The CO L fare will earn 50% on LH, TP and A3. It will earn 100% on AC, BD, CO, OZ, UA and US. It will earn elite bonus RDMs on AC, BD, CO, LH, UA and US.

TAP Downgrade on domestic sectors
Apology in advance if wrong thread to post. Please move as needed.
We bought 4 special Business Class fares, MCO-EWR-LIS on TP. Booked in J Class (and inventory bucket) on all sectors, using CO metal MCO-EWR-MCO in their F cabin but booked at TP code share (TP metal across water). Ticketed with confirmed seat assignments in F on domestic flights in early September. Today received notice from TP that J Class changed to H Class and seat assignments now 38AB instead of 3AB on the MCO-EWR-MCO sectors. Only explanation they have offered is CO had equipment change (from B737-800 to B757-200) and as result TP have no Business Class seats, and indeed TP tried to explain it was an all economy aircraft! If you look at CO schedule, it is B757 with F cabin. TP have offered to refund tickets but other arrangements in place and no decent fare alternative at this stage. Any suggestions on how to hold TP accountable for selling fare within Star Alliance and honoring same. |

Does anyone happen to know what LH K class maps to on SQ? I have an LH-issued itinerary with one SQ-operated leg and am trying to work out which of my FFPs I'll credit it to...I wrote to SQ asking about it but they were absolutely no help...

I am so confused my head hurts...lol
Looking at this flight Singapore Airlines Flight 1037 Departs: Mon Sep 10 9:15am Vancouver - Vancouver International (YVR) Arrives: Mon Sep 10 11:30am San Francisco - San Francisco International (SFO) Operated by: AIR CANADA Singapore Airlines Flight 15 Departs: Mon Sep 10 2:10pm San Francisco - San Francisco International (SFO) Arrives: Seoul - Inchon International Airport (ICN) No plane change Singapore Airlines Flight 15 Departs: Seoul - Inchon International Airport (ICN) No plane change Arrives: Wed Sep 12 0:50am Singapore - Changi (SIN) I'm trying to figure out the fare class of a particular SQ flight. Found a good fare, but of course the booking website does not list the fare class..so after doing some research someone recommended http://matrix.itasoftware.com/. is that the only way to find the fare class on these type of websites?? Getting that info for the SFO to ICN flight on ITA, the fare shows as Q. On AC aeroplan all the booking classes show as gaining 100% R, F, P, A, Z, C, J, D, S, Y, B, E, M, H, W, L, K, U 100% of miles but there is no Q fare??!! I guess I should not even care, as all flights with SQ will gain me 100% miles with AC aeroplan....is that correct? Further, if I want to book an upgrade on that SQ flight with my aeroplan points, from what I understand I have to book a SQ ticket in Y or B fares (and also S fares with SQ) and then request the upgrade for 25,000 miles in my case from SFO to ICN. (also since the above shows as no plane change, the upgrade would be all the way to SIN..or no?) So I get upgraded automatically on SQ, is there a waiting period or waitlist or how exactly does it work? I know that it is a lot of info and questions, but I would really appreciate anyone's help |

HI, I am confused about this chart. Does a United ticket bought using the T code but part flying on LH (Lufthansa BOM-FRA and FRA-ORD) acrrue miles on the Mileageplus program for the LH segments also? Many thanks for any response!
|
T code earns 100% on UA MP, as long as none of the travel is exclusively within Europe
While the booking code from UA generally matches up with the code from LH, you generally want to check the booking code on the operating carrier. You earn RDMs and PDMs regardless of where you booked the tickets but PQDs are only earned if you bouth the ticket through UA |
IAD-IST award upgrade on LH metal through UA alliance desk
Called United Star Alliance Desk to book a trip:
When I use KVS tool, if I do a search, I (think) I can see availability for upgrade. But when the UA agent submits for upgrades, it comes back as not available. I can see that there is P class available on LH 417. And I (think) as long as there is P class on a flight, I should be able to get my Y/B/M upgraded to P. Can someone confirm/deny this assumption? Also, what is the best method to search for upgradeable economy (to Business) on LH metal? [KVS Availability Tool 7.4.0/Diamond - Availability/FS/US] Code:

*A K class
Hi - booking a ticket on United in K class. One way flight is on United and return is on Lufthansa.
I've looked at several *A earning tables and it seems that some earn partial/full miles on United but seems that no one earns K class on Lufthansa. Is this correct? |
jonj, miles in MP, M&M, or a different program?
You also need to see what fare class the return ticket is on. It may be K on UA, but the operating carrier is what matters, so it matters how LH ticketed the flight. If the ticket is indeed K on LH, and you are looking to earn MP miles, then you are correct - it will earn no miles. But you should search the UA forum, as I believe sometimes K on UA converted to T on LH which earns 100% RDMs and PQMs as long as it's not intra-Europe only. |
Hi Josh - thanks for the quick response. I looked at A3, M&M and UA and all said nothing for K. The ticket is in the process of being ticketed and perhaps when it comes through from LH it will show a different fare class.
Thanks again. Jon |
According to the M&M calculator, a flight operated by LH in K class would earn 963 miles. So it really depends on which program you're trying to earn in.

K class on LH -- mileage earning on any airline?
Flying k class on LH and believe not eligible for mileage on UA or Aegean. Is it on any other Star carrier? AC?
Thx |
SAS will credit 25% for LH K, at least according to the earning chart: http://www.sas.se/eurobonus/tjana-po...lag/lufthansa/
Aeroplan will not credit any miles for LH K. |

LH M&M: 25% -> http://www.miles-and-more.com/online...l=en&cid=18002

With *A, the rule of the operating carrier is what matters. So it doesn't matte if it's UA K. It matters what fare UA K will book you into on LH

So UA flight number starting with a "9" for LH code share that is a K class is treated like it is a K fare on LH flight number? And thus get no mileage on MileagePlus
I think you'd have to speak to LH to find out - maybe pull up your reservation on LH's site and it'll give you the information. I seem to remember that K on UA did NOT translate to K on LH, but again, I don't remember fully. Try searching the UA forum, or maybe even ask in the newbie threads in either UA or LH. |
:
I have the question concerning tariff basis. On my ticket there is:OXX210T. What does it mean? It it is ticket for M&M miles.
I have first class ticket but on one step of my journey there is no first and I have to fly in bussines. What about lounges and bagage allowance? |
I have never heard of Z in Royal First fare, L R in Royal Silk, N in Economy according to TG's booking office in Thailand,
First: F A P Gold Upgrade First: P Mileage Upgrade and Redemption First: O Business: C D J Gold Upgrade Business: J Mileage Upgrade and Redemption Business: I Premium Economy: U Gold Upgrade Premium Economy: U Mileage Upgrade and Redemption Premium Economy: L Economy: Y B M H Q (S T K) Economy Group (50% mileage): G Economy Discounted (25% mileage): V W Mileage Redemption Economy: X N.B. Premium Economy is sold on CPH and ARN only. Economy S T K fare is not used by TG booking office but appear on TG's 2012 handbook. |
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but where do I find the operating class on Lufthansa of a TAP P bucket ticket? I know P on Lufthansa is cheap business but on TAP it's listed as economy. TAP P does get A3 miles but I wouldn't put it past Lufthansa to not credit any, if at all possible.

UA
I try to book a business class RTW ticket through staralliance.com which is issued by lufthansa. Can I get this ticket issued by United 016 ticket? I am GS of united and want to credit everything to united to maintain my status. All the segments shows D class, if UA metal, is that UA D class? thanks!
|
LH RTW fares use D as a basis in general, UA's logic is a bit different:
Code:
17NOV15**17NOV15/LH SHASHA/NSP;CT/TPM ...../MPM ..... |
Sorry, I cannot understand.
