RTW help please

Hi

I am a total novice at RTW but looking into them as they price well compared with regular flights to eg Europe.

A possible C or F RTWSTAR1 route is:

AKL-LAX-LHR-SIN-BKK-SIN-MNL-SIN-AKL

I want to stopover LHR, SIN and one or 2 in Asia (havent decided where yet). Prefer SQ where practical.

Does this look okay? Can you please suggest improvements? Would I save much by starting and finishing in say BKK?

TIA

AFAIK you're only allowed one stop-over (>24hrs) in any one city. You'll pass through the same city three times, which should be fine as long as you don't stop. If you do want to stop, then one way around this, I have been informed, is to book the last flights as 'open' (i.e. not put in a date) and then change them later. Apparently no one checks this. However, this is not based on personal experience so I can't vouch for that.

Yes only one transit through SIN is more than 24 hours. With the schedules and frequency of flights I can probably make the other two around 18-20 hours if I wanted.

ex-BKK prices for a Star1 (<29000miles) in C and F were roughly USD4000 and USD6200 last time I checked.

Thanks. Factoring in the need to get to BKK to start it off means only a small saving, unless I somehow nest 2 of them.

I have so much to learn!
