Interesting *A Flight Segments
Its been years in the making, honestly, years of saving up miles and it looks like i'll have to finally book that miniRTW trip next year to burn the miles.
This is likely going to be my once, and only ever time to do this trip in J class. Trying to fit in as many unique experiences as I can in this one trip so I ask... what are some of your thoughts on interesting *A redemptions? So far on my list I have, CS100 flight on Swiss. Gudetama Flight on BR from TPE-CEB. Upper Deck Business on ANY airlines (probably going to be LH at this rate). Whats your bid for something to not miss? Or you had on your list as a must-have-do. Add-on Question: Any Star Alliance Airlines offer pyjamas in business class. |

TK on your birthday +/- 1 day. 5 cake options for dessert. Then after meal service they bring out a full birthday cake with a bunch of crew and a dozen electronic candles to wish you hbd, then they cut it and serve anyone that wants some. If both segments in/out IST are TK, they do it on both segments, even 2 hour intra-Europe ones! (on the latter flight J was only 1/4 full so they wrapped it in a special box and gave it to me to take to my hotel).
Not to mention TK has a legit catering company do its food AND their lounge is the best in *A. Good luck getting even a smile from AC on your birthday! |
My recent *A redemption:
1) Tried the Star Alliance business lounge at LAX, love the outdoor sitting area. 2) Redeemed TG, OZ J seat on their A380. Great service on both. 3) Redeemed SQ J seat on the new A359 before they block them solely for Krisflyer members. 4) Redeemed NH B789 and watched sunrise in flight, great food out of HND. Good luck with the redemption and enjoy! |
As this is a Star Alliance topic it's been relocated to the Star Alliance forum for further discussion.

LH & CA both have 747-8, not sure how long either is keeping their remaining 747-400. Also, usually business is on the upper deck of the A380, which LH also has but don't forget OZ and TG too (SQ intentionally left out). Seems TG still has 747-400 also, but they are ragged and should be avoided. |

I don't think there technically is 'J', I think it is marketed as 'F'. Y+ is quite adequate for the short hops, though.

It is marketed as Business with the appropriate fare codes. Both the non-stop and the island hopper to Guam are "Business" flights.

Interesting flight segments?
How about a flight between Sweden and Denmark marketed by an Estonian airline, using a Polish airline AOC, operated through a British airline wet lease? :D (ORB-CPH, marketed by Nordica, using LOT flight numbers, operated with BMI Regional aircraft). |
Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming everyone.
Add-on questions: Do any Star Alliance flights offer pyjama's in Business Class? |
