Originally posted by tcswede: Maybe you should consider the following: There is no comission on the RTW ex CAI. The TA in CANADA or elsewhere for that matter normally needs to pay his counterpart in Egypt a commision for the issuing of ticket - and bear in mind that a handwritten 28 Sector ticket is some work. So the US $ 300 on a ticket which costs 4 to 5K US $ is not really that much for the work involved when comparing what a TA would normally get as a comission and here there are generally two to share it. Cheers Thomas The TA in Canada getīs a commission, if he issues a RTW ex CAI ! usualy 6 % for a premium ticket from the net fare without taxes ! The other question is, if that is enough for the work he has ??? Regarding that a FRWSTAR3 on TG-stock comes 30810 EGP ( 4985 USD ), the 6 % are about 299 USD ! Now regarding the FRWSTAR3 on UA ex USA is 10780 USD ! ( 6% on that is 647 USD ) for the same work. To compensate that he takes the 300 USD extra. I think thatīs fair. And if there are more in the same PNR traveling, I would ask for an discount for each aditional pax. |
Both the early FRA flight and the OS flight from VIE will get you there before 1630 and allow you to purchase the ticket.
Call LH or OS and have them price the itinerary (i.e calc taxes) in your home country. Then all they have to do in CAI is print it and charge your card. If you take the late FRA then both airlines have offices in Zamalek. I had some minor trouble with OS because they had never done an RTW before and then their ticket printer was broken. Remember that the Egyptian weekend days are different from ours. |
I think it is great that they work on Sundays. I can deal with them when I have time... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
