NZ lounge at RAR (Rarotonga, Cook Islands, South Pacific). Small, crowded, no food, bad air. Thats the one *A lounge I stayed the shortest time (about 10 seconds and I went out again).

BUT, who needs a lounge while waiting on an airport in paradise? I grabbed a drink from the lounge and settled on a open air lawn in the middle of the airport and waited for the boarding call while looking at the stars of the southern hemisphere.

NZ lounges at AKL and SYD were very nice, though.

The worst I've been to is the *G lounge in Chiangmai. Too small, lousy food, and absolutely packed if more than one flight is departing.

I have a question about the BOS lounge, never been in it, though I fly through often(better things to do). I see the entrance when I exit my AC flight.
1) I've never been able to fnd an airside entrance. Is there one on airside?

The LH lounges in BOS, there are two adjacent to each other, one for SEN and one for others, are before Security, and not airside. In Terminal E after check-in proceed up the stairs/escalators to the departure area. At the first landing take a left, walk down a the long hallway, overlooking the check-in area, to the end, go right, right again and downa short hallway, entrance on the left. I actually don't think that they're that bad, other than the location, the dark and closed-in feeling and the generally shabby furnishings. Not great, yes, but certainly not among the worst.

Another BOS LH question comes to mind. If the lounge isn't airside, can my "guest" be the person dropping me off(i.e. not travelling with me)?

Yes, I can see no reasons why your guest cannot be someone who is not flying, from a security standpoint. The LH staff might have some other reasons to not allow such a thing but I would not expect that at all.

What's a better F lounge alternative?

sorry alex, there is no alternative, The SQ flight is the only one that leaves durin the day, the alternative LH lounge doesnt open till about 4.30 and the VS lounge doent open till about 5.30 - only a PPS member could use the VS lounge not a generic *G.

I would like to add another lounge and that is the SAS contract lounge in AMS, The BD is not great, but that was horrid

UA RCC at Laguardia - The food court was a better choice http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

The United International First Class Lounge at CDG.

Very small.

I mean, it's so small that when they put the key in the door, they break the window!

Try the Thai Lounge in KTM - it is segregated from the rest of the otherwise average boarding area by some bookcases and although I did not venture in (flying SQ out of there) it's exclusivity and features seemed limited to the fact that it was segregated from the rest of the boarding area by a few bookcases....

ABM,

nice to mention the TG lounge at TPE! At least now they are nominated for something.

Take a room, place some chairs, put a TV screen on, and: you do have a *G lounge!

The SAA F lounge is *very* nice and has outstanding food, but only available if you are flying SAA. The "other airlines" SAA F lounge is available for LH/CX and open during the day (it is not used by SAA any more, now that their new lounge has been constructed). No internet terminals, though (but Oude Meester in the bar, which makes up for a lot of deficiencies).

LH Senator/International First Lounge - DUS

Has gotten soooo much worse since my last visit. Tired and tattered fabrics and leather. Stains on the carpet. Not one set of headsets available for the TV wall. Used glasses and newspapers sitting uncollected everywhere.

The LH Business Lounge that was across the lobby was actually nicer (but not by much) and they certainly had better food and goodies over there. Lotsa passengers were passing back and forth in front of reception bringing plates of goodies from the Business side to the Senator side.

Made me long for even a domestic Red Carpet Club!
