Converting *A miles to oneworld or others

Not sure this is the right place to post this, so if it's not, please point me in the right direction.

Is there a way I can convert United Mileage Plus miles into, say, a hotel mileage program and then into Cathay Pacific or South African? Is there a site anyone knows of that describes this? Is there a board that covers these things? Any help is appreciated.

Will

You can try Hilton Honors, though at an unattractive conversion rate.

Diners Club USA can absorbe you UA Mileage Plus @ 2 miles for 2 Club points. 2 Club points can then be converted into 1 mile in other FF programs. In the past two years, DC has been running a promotion with British Airways (BA), a major Oneworld carrier, during the Summer time where you can get 1 BA mile for 1 DC point. That means you may convert UA miles into BA miles on a one to one basis. This is the best way of interchanging miles out there in the known FT Universe.

Is this a special deal for Canadian Diners Club members ? I had a Diners Club card 3 years ago and knew that one could earn miles then send them to any airline in the program. I did not know that one could send miles from an airline program to Diners and then put them in another FF pgm. Maybe one could move American miles over to British Airways during one of these specials. Anyone have any success with that ???

This is only the US version of Diners Club. The Canadian version is limited to AC Aeroplan miles and cannot be used to launder miles from or two any other programs.

the Swiss Diners program doesn't offer such a 'laundering' program either.
