Does this work as a mileage run?
Am I right in thinking that SK Eurobonus gives a minimum of 1200 for a Star Alliance Business Class flight?
TG have business class in the 35 min flight from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. Expedia is quoting £42 (UK) return in Business Class. It's £26 return in Economy. There appear to be 2 return flights a day. Does this mean you could do 5 returns in business for £210 and get 12,000 points on SK? Stephen |
There is no maximum (number) of minmum (mileage) flts.
|
Yes it would work. 12.000pts would be enough for a trip in Scandinavia(including Finland) Meaning you could travel ARN-OSL-LYR for instance.
|
There are even cheaper flights. Try the CNX - HGN (Mae Hong Son) route at only about 15$ in Economy for the Return flight.

I think someone said this already... but
that domestic route has to be the easiest way to qualify for 1K, Super Elite etc etc because you could rack up about 10 segments A DAY! What would be even more perfect is if you didn't have to actually go on the flight... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif That would mean you just stay in Thailand for a few days, turn up to the airport every day, check in for about 10 flights then just not go to the gate!!! stargold |
UA 1K is 100 segments.
$15 r/t means 50 trips = $US750 for instant 1K. Sit there and drink beer for 2 days and book on every flight. You do NOT have to be on the flight? Surely unless you flew it, segment would not count? My math says the 6 x Systemwides alone are worth many times that to me! ------------------ ~ Glen ~ |
Well, you got my attention! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Very interesting prospect indeed! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
From the United web-site.
United 1K: "When you fly 100,000 paid miles or 100 paid segments on United Airlines in a calendar year, you attain Premier Executive 1K® membership in the United Airlines Mileage Plus® program. Your qualifying, paid flight miles earned on Star Alliance™ member flights also count toward Premier status." The last sentence is a little vague. Do Star Alliance flights only count toward the 100K mile requirement or the 100 segment requirement too? If so, GREAT! Early next year, I may just do this! Probably "just" 25 round-trips! |
Forget Latin Pass .. we need to do the BAHT PASS RUN http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif 10 trips aroud Thailand will do it .. tvl4free has it all sussed and scheduled up: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/003326.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/003577.html ------------------ ~ Glen ~ |

CNX-PHS-CNX 2 stops each way, total 6 segments $48 round trip, $8 a segment 1015A-345P 4 days a week. You can also buy a o/w ticket for 1/2 the price. |
Darren, OK, I give up! what are CNX-PHS-CNX? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
|
Is it just me, or are any of you concerned as to how TG can even afford to maintain the aircraft with fares such as these? Much less pay a pilot?
|
Where did you find this fare Darren? 48$ for CNX-PHS via CEI and BKK i assume. The fare I could find is over 200$. PHS is Phitsanulok, I wonder what that city is like....
