You are absolutely right. After posting the last message I checked the schedule and the MEL-JNB flight was not there! I'd seen it on one CRS only 2 days ago when I was checking flights next week for my trip to Capetown to commence my Oneworld Odyssey. It clearly listed a MEL-JNB 1 stop flight on 27 Sept. Maybe it was a one-off flight for a special event like a Springbok-Wallaby test. Oh, on second thoughts that couldn't be it Melbournians don't know what Rugby is. (Even if they have got a team into the National League final). I didn't correct the post as I was sure someone would pick me up on it. And why let the facts get in the way of a good story!! Anyway my credibility is totally shot to pieces by the fact that on the return leg to South Africa of the Oneworld fare I'll be going Cathay via Asia! The thought of flying 15 1/2 hrs (or 17 1/2 hrs depending on who you talk to) in Business class when I've paid a 1st class RTW ticket did not sit well with me. And hey adding the extra continent only meant an extra $US500. Not to mention all those FF points I'll be getting. By the way I'm actually flying over to JNB in SA 1st - using Ansett points. Didn't have any problems getting seats even with a last minute change. And only 200000 km for SYD-JNB-EZE-JNB-SYD all in 1st. I hope they have some good Meerlust reds. Thanks for all the replies. I'm in favor on oneWorld because of the stronger presence in Asia with CX. I like CX a lot more than TG.

3544quebec: we won't hold your desire to travel in first via a longer route against you http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. Heck, that's what we're all about!

Yeah, having flown the Concorde once I decided it was a great waste of Champagne drinking time - I mean I have nothing better to do in life than be fawned upon.
