I am OZ Diamond, and therefore *G.
It has been well discussed that OZ will no longer issue a physical card. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/asian...ship-card.html |

Digital frequent flyer cards issued by member carriers are officially to be accepted by all lounges for access. Many other airlines are also going digital with their cards. The only other accepted forms of proof of status remain the valid plastic FFP card or the XX*G indicator on the boarding pass.

Physical Card Required at ZRH
Transiting ZRH today, I wanted to test whether they would let me into the SEN lounge based on boarding pass only, no physical card. They would not. I pointed out that my boarding pass says UA *G and that *A rules allow access on that basis alone. The lounge dragon said that under Swiss rules, if I wanted to access the SEN lounge, I would have to show my card. She swiped it and let me in.
In the E terminal SEN lounge now. Nice space but the food options are quite poor. |
Did you try the food-per-order? The hot buffet isn't that much, but the per-order stuff is quite alright (for an airport lounge)
Is the outdoor area open? Definitely hope for good weather on the weekend for it :) And back to topic, yes, LX is VERY stingy about wanting to see a physical card. Which is rather silly since some programs hardly send out cards anymore.. |
useful reference

The multiple ways in which *G status can be proven for the purposes of lounge access are clearly outlined in the *A regulations:

Which is rather silly since some programs hardly send out cards anymore.. It was a beautiful sunny day and the terrace was open. It is a beautiful space and the liquor selection was excellent (too bad I don't drink). I'm quite confident they would not have let me in without a physical card. |

I've never had any LH group airline let me in w/o a physical card. I don't understand why since my *G is UA and LH is supposed to have access to my UA number since UA and LH share traveler information.

My experience is the opposite of yours. 8 connects in the last 2 years through FRA and GVA, UA metal and using LH and LX lounges - no card asked for. BPs good enough for me + guest.

For Business lounge or SEN lounge? I was told at ZRH that they'll let you into BUS lounge with a J boarding pass . . . but SEN lounge requires the card.
GVA is LX lounge. Does not appear to matter if physical BP is on UA or partner card stock. Most recently flew through FRA and GVA in the last month. Almost always flying in Y only. Only time I get asked for card is at shared contract lounges e.g. BUD. The electronic card (on UA app) was always accepted. In fact, over the last 2 years, I have not been asked for physical card at TK, NH, SQ, LH, LX, TG lounges |
