Also Flying Blue (not *A, but one of the options) seem to give Gold status for 40K, which seams reasonable. But I've been told that it is harder to earn miles with them, compared to UA.

Bottom line is, that after few days of research I am even more lost then I was initially :) I am starting to think that it may not be worth all this trouble...

The thing about you only fly 50K-70K is a problem, as LH Senator require 100K to qualify, 50K-70K will only get you FTL.

I thought (incorrectly) LH SEN was a two year qualification window, so, aside from the first year as FTL, OP would be able to earn SEN status.

Well, that is assuming those 50-70K miles are actually qualifying fares, and not discount economy.

I am starting to realize this. The only exception (suggested in some other thread) seams to be Aegean Miles&Bonus, which gives *G for just 24K miles.

In this case you need to have 4 flights with A3 !

No it is not, you are probably confused with OZ. As OZ is the one that have 2 years to achieve Diamond (that equal to star gold) and require 40K miles only.

If it is that easy for LH we as FTers would be jumpship to LH so that we can get to fly LH F and LX F much easier. The only easy programs to achieve *G are A3 and OZ. A3 is no more as new requirement 4 flights that actually on A3.

Thanks - for some reason I was conflating qualifying and validity periods.

Ever considered TK?

gruimed Jan 7, 2015 9:50 am

Route-wise TK is not such a bad option. The only problem is that I am a bit reluctant going to Turkey because of political tensions between our countries.
