Help! Missed flight
I'm one of the US based coaches for a roller derby team representing Greece at the derby world cup next week. One of my players missed her Aegean flight from ATH to LGW this morning, what's the best way to get her to either Dallas or Austin in the next day or two? She booked with United and her flights from London on are on their metal. Also what type of change fees should there be? She missed the flight by 10 minutes, the plan was still at the gate and they wouldn't let her on.

Help! Missed flight
Flat tire rule? They wouldn't reaccomodate her?
|
Usually no such thing as flat tire rules exist in Europe.
For international long haul, usually if you miss any flight, your ticket is voided if non-changable. With a bit of luck, the airline could reintroduce it for a later flight if talked to. I've found the North American airlines in general being rather generous on this. But given this ticket has more than one airline's metal (A3 and United) it might be trickier. I assume it's a United ticket? Then I would contact United and explain the situation. If it's changable (especially after departure) then you could just change it, otherwise try to be nice and explain the situation. Worst case, be prepared to buy a new ticket.. |

Also, the OP cross-posted the same question in the UA forum. |
Thanks, yeah I posted in both since I wasn't sure which one to post to.
On hold with United right now. |
