FM 810 to UA 836 at PVG

Hi all,

Looking at taking FM 810 from HKG-PVG (arrives 15:30) and connecting to UA 836 PVG-ORD (departs 17:00).

Is this a legal connection? If so, is this a bright idea? I've seen numbers ranging from 90 minutes to 4 hours and the UA exceptions are a bit unclear to me, and lots of people seem to have varying PKG connection experiences.

Anyone made this connection? Any other random thoughts? It will be two relatively seasoned travelers making this connection and unafraid to walk quickly, but we've never transited (or visited!) China.

cheers.

Very risky. As far as I know you will need to collect bags, clear immigration, and re check in. I would overnight in Shanghai if you had to take FM flights.

I should also mention I guess that I'm looking at doing this on an Aeroplan F award so it needs to be a legal connection to consider it at all.

I'm guessing not after looking at KVS - looks like the minimum is either 100 or 120.

[KVS Availability Tool 5.7.7/Diamond - Reference: Minimum Connection Time [MCT]: PVG/FM-UA]

Availability on 01-Jan and 02-Jan.

I'll probably have to go back the other way, looking at the current availability over the Pacific...
