Using Bitcoin to pay for WN purchases

I know zilch about Bitcoin, but this might be of interest to someone.

Sounds like a sure fire way to end up with "SSSS" on your boarding pass.

The app uses bitcoin to buy retailer branded gift cards.

Presumably there would be no way for Southwest to know you bought your gift card with bitcoin. I also doubt that TSA knows how a particular passenger paid for their airfare, but if they do, again -- it would show as a gift card.

It looks like the fee for Southwest cards is a hefty 6.5%, but presumably that varies.

Since you'd be buying airfare with a gift card, all the usual gift card terms and conditions would apply.
