Should I just buy the 2K RR pts for $50

Hi all,
I'm looking at an award flight for BDL-MSY-BDL Nov 9-12 and then will add a CP ticket to that. However, I'm 402 pts short on the award ticket at the moment. I'll have about 55,000 RR pts hitting any time...depending when the Chase Bonus comes through. CP should also hit at any time. I just started with Chase URs and have 2000 pts ready to hit in a couple weeks. Everything would fine in a couple weeks but I fear the fare will be gone. Should I just suck it up and buy 2000 pts for $50?

Assuming you have a Chase UR card that can transfer points to Southwest, it would be better to buy 1,000 UR points at $25 to cover your shortfall.

I didn't know about this either. From the UR FAQ...

Which Chase credit cards are eligible for point transfer?

Chase issues several premium credit cards for both individuals and businesses. These cards are fee-based and offer enhanced features including point transfer.

Chase's premium credit cards include:

* Chase Sapphire PreferredSM
* Ink BoldSM
* Ink PlusSM
* J.P. Morgan Palladium Card
* J.P. Morgan Select Card
P.S. Is it true that only fee-based cards are eligible? Kinda makes sense cuz the free UR cards' points tend to be worth 1c/pt which is less than the worth of RR pts.

Or you could send someone flowers for $29.99 and delivery of $15 and get 1000 WN points.

And they are CP-qualifying.
