Where will my Refundable $ be credited after fare decrease?

I rebooked my flight due to a fare decrease and a portion of the balance was considered Refundable. Since I won't be able to use the remainder by the expiration date of June 18, 2010, I requested a refund of that amount. I see "Refund Requested $18.30" stated on the confirmation, but no indication of where exactly the refund is going to be credited.

I paid for the original ticket last year with a combination of PayPal and a Southwest Gift Card and I know I don't have the card anymore. PayPal currently shows no refund activity from Southwest.

Good question. Gift card funds are never refundable. They will remain available for reuse under the existing PNR. PayPal funds should be refunded to your PayPal account ("All eligible refunds are provided according to your original form of payment.").

unless your orig. booking was for a refundable fare, then you'll see a refund, i believe within 3 business days to the orig. pay (paypal). if not, you will only get a credit for future flight and will expire 1 year from orig. booking date.

you can check sw with the orig. confirmation and they will tell you if you have any credit that exp. in 1 year or a refund.

And my personal experience with PayPal transactions (with Southwest) is that the refund takes a LONG time... I believe one took almost four weeks... (least amount of time was 2 weeks).

YMMV
