Help with lodging in FLL

We are flying to FLL in December on United for a cruise. Because of the timing, we will need to spend a night in Fort Lauderdale before and after the cruise. Anyone have any advice of reasonable priced motels/hotels that are convenient to the airport and cruise port--preferable that provide transport to/from airport/port?? Thanks

Since not a UA question, moved to the Florida forum, thanks. Enjoy the cruise!

FLL is a very good Priceline city. I'd recommend doing the research and submitting bids for a 3* or 4* in the airport zone. The airport is close to the cruise port, as well.

It may also depend on whether your stay will take place in early December or the latter part of the month. Some properties sfift from low-season (or 'shoulder'-season) rates on or arounf December 15th. Otherwise, SRQ's advice is spot-on. Also, don't forget Hotwire as another bidding option.

Near both the airport and Port is an Amerisuites a Holiday Inn Express and IIRC a Courtyard. These hotels are also near nothing else remotely fun or interesting.

Yep, any of the hotels are not near anything fun.
There are a couple options on US1 or 17th St causeway, but the neighborhood is a bit dodgy.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Ft/ Lauderdale Airport North both before and after our flights and were very comfortable. I believe they currently over Stay n' Go packages for both air and sea travelers.

Pretty much so - unless one is an angler, that is. The Courtyard "Airport-Seaport" is next door to the International Fishing Hall of Fame (and also next door is a big Bass Pro Shop).
