Checking award status
 

hi, i was wondering if any of the skyteam members have the same service * alliance does in which you can check if their are any award seats on a certain airline. in my case im trying to find availibldty on a KE flight

Even with KVS I have never found any information on booking class availability with KE! I have flown on KE this summer,(3 RTW segments )but with a ticket bought with AF and it was impossible to see and to change any seat! Call them but it's a very secret compagny...

You want to call your home carrier where the miles are, not KE, to check award seats on KE.

Unfortunately KE is one of the few SkyTeam airlines that you can't search from the NW Japan site.

I had similar problems reserving KE seats through DL: they can apparently see the seat numbers and do assignments but can't see anything about cabin layout/classes/etc. For example, the upper-deck J seats on a 747 are up in the 70s, and DL had no way to look that up without calling KE. Fortunately, KE seatmaps are easily available online, so that made it easy for me to locate seats and ask DL to blindly reserve them by number.

I also did call KE to do seat assignments a few times which was no problem after getting my KE PNR from DL. (I always try to get all partner PNRs on a multi-carrier booking.)
