Skyteam card

I have a continetnal onepass card and a NWA KLM card. I saw somewhere that there is a consolidated SKYTEAM card that is just one card to show for all partners. Is this true? I saw a brochure on an air france flight but it was in French. Also I checked my conitnental miles status and it says this:

OnePass Elite Level: Silver
SkyTeam Elite Level: Elite
Year to Date Elite Miles: 29,130
Year to Date Elite Points: 7

So now that I am elite for skyteam that means i am privvy to the benefits right? So I can check in at business class line and board first right?

JRoger, welcome to FlyerTalk!

There is no consolidated SkyTeam card. Your Continental card, however, gives you certain benefits on all SkyTeam flights and additional benefits only on Continental.

You can, for example, go to the First Class check in and board first with any of the SkyTeam partners. Your eligibility for upgrades, however, is restricted to Continental (and I think Northwest but I am not certain about that).

Elite Upgrade also available on Continental and Northwest, but domestic only.
*domestic includes Canada and Central America, not including Hawaii.

You can consider your elite card a "consolidated" elite card because it has the Skyteam Elite logo on it. That's really all you need to claim benefits on partner airlines. Of course, whether you're Skyteam Elite or Skyteam Elite Plus will make a difference in which benefits you end up receiving. This distinction should also be noted on your card under the SkyTeam logo.

Each airline has its own requirements for Elite Plus. In your case, just go to the Continental website and see what you need for Platinum.

but how i understand it is that the skyteam status is totally different than the onepass status. Could someone please break it down for me.

Thanks

Because I am a silver on onepass and an ELITE on skyteam. I want the lounge access though. Also there isnt a chart to show how to get from one to the other. Kind of like a miles and points chart from ELITE to ELITEPLUS?

Also, among other things, CO Plats get upgraded before Golds, who get upgraded before Silvers. And only CO Plats can reserve exit rows on CO metal.

CO Silver/Gold = ST Elite.
CO Plat = ST Elite Plus.

To get CO Plat, you need 75,000 EQMs or 90 EQSs.

STE+ will only give you lounge access on days you are flying internationally on a Skyteam-operated flight. If you want lounge access all the time (including when you fly domestically), join the PClubs:

http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...e/default.aspx

If you want access to more lounges than CO offers, consider joining NW's Worldclubs, which includes access to almost all the lounges CO offers plus many more overseas:

I second this.. you just have to go and do some reading on the Continental One Pass program. These are very basic questions that are listed not only on the website but also the member's guide that you receive with your card and furthermore since you are Elite within that program, I am sure that you have received much more information with regards to this.

Another suggestion would be to go and dig up more info from the Continental OnePass Forum. There I am sure most of your questions will be answered. So a visit to www.continental.com and www.skyteam.com, all your questions would generally be answered. A bit of reading will help a lot.

Sorry if I am sounding a bit sacarstic here, but just that in the recent weeks I have been seeing lots of such posting from new members which are so basic and can be easily found on the program website itself. I know I have been new here once, but sometimes these plain definition of levels within one airline and the Alliance level can be easily found on the web.

Of course last but not least welcome to the forum and I am sure you will benefit from it.

:)

Hey THEMICAH

I am new to this upgrade thing kinda. Do you mean free upgrades if there are like seats open in business or first class? How does that work?
