I am Continental elite. Used OnePass number to book tickets. Does anyone know off hand if Delta Airlines will upgrade if you are skyteam elite?

You have not provided enough information here. Are u talking about US (48) domestic complimentary upgrades or international upgrades? If US domestic, the reciprocal agreement has not been made yet between DL and CO/NW. So, the answer is NO. If international, there is no such thing as complimentary upgrades unless flight is overbooked and business seats are still left after Delta Elites are upgraded, then u have no chance as the priority is placed amount Skymiles Elites first then SkyTeam Elites.

Looks like I did provide enough info...the answer is no whether it is International or Domestic.

That sucks.. What good is an alliance, if it won't allow a person to have the same perks. Other than the miles.

Sorry to say that Delta seems to want to be a partner 'at a distance' - no upgrades for Partner elites and no club access w/o a boarding pass on Delta.

So far only CO/NW have the kind of deal you're looking for.

I say...
just ask. I've been upgraded on NW/CO flights w/ my Delta status. I'll get the "Normally we don't do...." excuse and get upgraded or get shot down. Just depends on the mood of a gate agent. At least if they're upgrading, they're upgrading a frequent flyer that might consider changing.

I absolutely agree but popular opinion says that reciprocal upgrades shouldn't take place.

I think there is stiffer resistance to reciprocal upgrades from CO and NW elites than from their counterparts at DL. Reviewing some of the threads on the CO and NW boards, there is great anxiety and fear that DL elites, like hordes of locusts, will descend on CO and NW flights and "steal" all the upgrades.

I would say that with CO, the problem is typically that there aren't enough upgrades for their own elites (which is not a problem with NW), so people shouldn't worry so much about DL people stealing them...

It looks like I've got the reverse coming up. I'm DL gold, looking at booking a redeye SNA (Orange County) - EWR on CO. Hope I don't have to spend the night sitting in back, but it's $1000 extra for a seat up front, can't justify that.

Any chance a nice CO GA will Op-Up me?
Will it help if I say Micky1003 sent me?

Interestingly, there have been stories of CO and NW agents upgrading DL elites on occasion. This may be due to the reciprocal upgrade program in effect between CO/NW and the assumption by some uninformed agents that the reciprocity applies to DL elites as well. Ask nicely and you may be in for a surprise.

Thanks. I've even had the same happen on AF and AZ

But this time around I ended up finding a workable itinerary on DL, and I booked that. I put in the upgrade requests, the long legs are K on the outbound, T on the redeye return... hope I clear

It never hurts to ask.....but CO agents seem to be less willing than NW agents
