On the outbound I booked a biz seat on the DTW-ICN flight and looked forward to the 4 hour ICN layover to do work in the KE lounges. How wrong I was. The lounges are all for international flights. There is no domestic lounge in ICN, not even a priority pass lounge, only lounges for Koreans that are not part of a wide network. Instead of working productively, I had to wander the terminal. As an Elite Plus, KE gave me a $5 voucher to buy a cup of coffee at Dunkin Doughnuts. Next time I will avoid transiting ICN and use NRT instead.

Well all of the good lounges are international lounges. I can't think of many good domestic lounges anywhere in the ST system.

After hearing the mentions of KE's F club at ICN, I'm wondering how a mere mortal like me, equipped with pithy SkyPesos, can get in?

Best lounge I've ever been in, hands down, was CX's The Wing in HKG; altho nominal DL partner
Malaysia Air's lounge in KUL is pretty nice, too.

AF lounge at HKG was nice. Furnitures are showing some age but, most of the time it's totally empty.

I don't get out much but the AMS Crown Lounge by the F concourse is the best I've been in. They have actual food there. The US Sky Clubs, by comparison, really suck! The only other international clubs I've been in are the AF lounge at JNB and the whatever it is lounge we Delta folks are entitled to at HND.

AF lounge at HKG is just as mediocre as any other AF lounge, it has the EXACT same crappy modern late 80's "futuristic" fixtures and furniture as every other AF lounge that has been created or renovated in the last 14 years. The only difference being that they serve a few spring rolls and the like.

Of course the domestic lounges do not compare to the international ones. However, the Sky Team lounge in BOS international terminal is wonderful. In the afternoon/evening they usually have a delicious soup, (last week it was lentil), fresh salads, breads, cheeses, a dessert and a very, very nice selection of wines, along with the usual pick of snack items.

Virgin lounge in SYD is really nice and has a great food selection.

Yes I know they are not Skyteam but do allow DL elites access when flying Virgin.

I'm surprised to see people liking the AMS lounges. They are just mediocre. At least the AF LH lounge at CDG has a Clarins Spa with free treatments. And a much better alcohol selection with usually a very nice Champagne.

And no one has mentioned the First class lounges? AF's Premier lounge is super nice with luxury cars to drive you to the plane. I'm thinking of trying KE F on the A380 with a transfer to a 777. What do they have at ICN for First class transit passengers?

I was very unimpressed by the AF J lounge at CDG's Terminal 2E. When I was there I found no hot food and instead an abundance of packaged snacks. Furthermore, the lounge was overcrowded and I could not find anywhere to sit. I also found its layout to be somewhat confusing. Meanwhile the KL AMS lounge had more seating, hot food, friendly staff, good showers and better tarmac views.

Which 2E lounge? The main one is massive. Much larger than what KL has at AMS. But yes there is a smaller downstairs one that isn't that great. However both have Clarins Spas and KL has nothing in the spa department. And the showers at AMS are never available IME. Every time I've tried to get on the list there is over 90 minutes wait.

Weird, when I asked for a shower at about 7:30 AM on a Tuesday morning I had maybe a 5 minute wait. Spas don't do it for me though so I can't really comment on that, I can see why you'd prefer AF if they're your thing though. And it was the main 2E lounge but massive as it was, seating options were at best limited. It didn't help that I was there when a ton of CDG-US flights were leaving.

KE J @ ICN gets my vote.

I think it depends on which 2E lounge you are in. If it's the one downstairs to which Stimpy refers, I agree, it's crowded and at time hard to find two seats together. (This was the lounge around E28 - 47.) But the lounge in 2E by the 51 and up gates is much better, plenty of seats, etc.
