Skyteam lounge at PTY

Delta GM flying PTY->ATL->LGA next week. Skyteam.com indicates that the skyteam lounge is the American Airlines lounge.

That seems strange since American is in a 100% separate alliance. Does anyone have any experience using this lounge?

Doubt i'll have much time to use it with a 745am flight, but still.

Copa lounge is decent. Not sure how one would access it with a Delta flight. A day pass is $50.

Here's another option: http://www.tocumenroyalsaloon.com/index-en.html (landside, unfortunately)

At HKG, DL has been using the QF business class lounge. [It's very good.] So there's precedent or at least other examples of DL paying for access to oneworld lounges in certain airports. If DL doesn't see fit to maintain a lounge at an airport where there should be one, for example for BE passengers, obviously DL should compare possibilities for contract lounges versus lounges operated by other carriers.

Unfortunately, when I went through Hong Kong in early December, Delta had shifted to using the Air France-KLM Lounge. Was disappointing since I had been keen on wanting to check out the Qantas Lounge, but you're right there is a history of using airlines from other alliances to take care of passengers in certain places (Didn't Delta use a US Airways Club in PHL prior to the Sky Club?).

since this was a PTY thread; was curious (for later this week),

lounge access when flying KLM PTY-AMS (Diamond Medallion, not that this really matters) in business class. Any thoughts?
