Shower in Changi

I'll be arriving SIN from FRA around 6AM and am connecting to a Jet Star Asia flight to BKK around 9:30AM.

I understand that even though I am flying J on FRA-SIN, I will not have access to the SQ lounge after arrival because I don't have an onward journey that day with them.

What are my options to use shower facilities in Changi? Also, don't the Jet Star Asia flights leave from different terminals than SQs?

One option is the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 2, which offers (unisex) shower facilities for something like S$15, S$40 if you want to use the lounge facilities as well (selection of snack food, non-alcoholic drinks, Internet access). My recollection of the prices may be faulty because I had free access with my Priority Pass membership.

Look for the signs that say "Gym and Lounge" and take the escalators up one level.

There's a transit hotel with gym and open air pool you can use for a few hours located in the non SQ terminal, whichever that is. It's a nice way to kill an hour or two.

sorry i am unable to help answer the questions in the first part but you are correct- SQ is based at Terminal 2 while Jetstar Asia is based at Terminal 1

here's a link i found at Changi Airport's website which lists the terminals which the various airlines are at

To connect on a Jetstar Asia flight from SQ, you will need to clear immigration, collect your checked bags, proceed to Terminal 1 and check in at 3K's counter 2 hours before your 3K flight to BKK.

Please note that there is no 3K Transfer desk within the Transit area.

For showers, you could consider the following options.

1) Proceed to Terminal 2 Transit hotel or Plaza Premium Lounge after disembarking from SQ. Both are located above the garden just before F50 gate. After the showers, clear Immigration, collect your bags at SATS Lost and Found counter and proceed for check in for 3K in Terminal 1.

2) Clear Immigration and collect your bags and proceed to check in at 3K counters. Re-enter the Immigration area. Proceed for showers at either the Rainforest Lounge (near Gate C1) or Transit Hotel Terminal 1 (above Gate D41), depending on location of the boarding gate for 3K.

The showers will cost approx S$8.50 and is inclusive of shower amenities/towels and after shower beverage.

Cheers

I think what J777 meant in 1) is that if you decide on this route, and take the shower after arrival... and by the time you go to customs, your bags will no longer be on the luggage carousel but would have already been shuttled off to the Lost and Found Baggage department. So should you decide to 'disappear' after your flight, your bags might disappear too.

But of course, if you have no luggage, you can just exit and proceed to T1.

Yes, it is not going to help much if there is no JetStarAsia check-in at the Transit desks, so you would have to exit T2 and then go to T1. ... Or you could take the transit train and go to T1 and exit from T1 immigration (if you have no checked in bags).

Correct on all counts except the timing: 45 minutes before your flight is fine.

Hey, if he misses the flight due to him checking in late for the flight (bearing any unforeseen circumstances)....i wouldn't be held responsible

Broadwayboy can do so if it pleases him....at his own risk.

The OP has 3:30 between his flights, so that should be plenty, even allowing an hour of buffer for LCC delays. But naturally it makes sense to get the "work" (immigrate, pick up bags, check in again, migrate out) out of the way first and then go explore airside...

Bump of a very old thread, but exactly my situation:

Arriving T2 SIN on SQ by 6AM, have JetStar flight 3PM. Will have several pieces of checked baggage.

Are the 2 options in post #5 still my only options? Is it still the case JetStar does not have transfer desk in T1 airside?

Jetstar Asia does not have transfer desk airside (read on)
I'm arriving at Changi on SQ in 2 weeks at 2pm and leaving the next day 7am on Jetstar.(going to TPE) I plan on spending the 17 hours in the aiport. Watch a couple of movies, eat, get a massage and I have the airport hotel booked from 10pm to 4am(it comes in blocks of 6 hours) - $41SIN

This is the link to what has transfer desk. It depends which Jetstar you are flying.. If it is Jetstar Asia, then the answer is NO. But Jetstar International has a transfer desk in T1 (if i am not mistaken, this only means you are flying to Australia...anywhere else it is Jetstar Asia)

What are you planning to do regarding your checked luggage (will you have any?)

And thanks to the earlier poster re. the earlier tip about JetQuay. Seems a bit paradoxical to book on JetStar to save some $ and then splurge on the transit. But it does look inviting!

I don't have any checked luggage. I always travel with a backpack only - and 7kg since that is all I can bring on AK and Jetstar. I save by flying Jetstar but I pay extra for exit row - which is not much. $30SG
