Agree with others. I usually have my checked bags, have cleared immigration, and I'm in a taxi within 15-20 mins of de-planing. No other airport in the world comes close. Longest time I've ever spent in immigration in Changi (and I must have entered Singapore 100 times), is 30 mins and that was a one-off bad day. Usually immigration takes less than 2-3 mins.

4 minutes at most.
One of the best airports in the world IMO. Only place that could be improved is security. |
I am in and out of Changi every week.
I would say 0-5 minutes is what it takes to clear immigration. Don't forget to grab duty free :D |

1) Terminal 2 is now somewhat overloaded as it has absorbed all the LCC pax whilst the budget terminal is being redeveloped so I believe 30 min queues can occur here at certain types of day. The renovations in T1 are now finished and all immigration desks are open so its unlikely you will have long queues to contend with. T3 is the showpiece and i have never seen more than 3 or 4 people in line here..
2) Airside all the terminals are linked in a big U shape but landside you need to to take the skytrain to connect between terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 have direct entry to the MRT station but T1 doesnt. Depending what gate you arrive at in T1, if you are taking the MRT, its often quicker to walk to the nearest immigration in either T2 or T3 and go direct to the MRT rather than use T1 immigration and then taking the Skytrain (obviously only do this if you dont have checked bags) 3) Jetquay is nice but the drive on the buggy from their terminal to T3 is ridiculously long. I did it once out of curiosity but would never bother with this for normal travel. Its not like the normal check in and immigration and lounges in T3 arent any good.. ;) |

Immigration has never taken me more than 5 minutes (including standing in line) but baggage claim/customs can sometimes be slow, even in T3, and even with a priority tag.
"Slow" meaning 15 minutes wait, not the 40 minutes you get at some Chinese or US airports.. Also customs will sometimes pull people over to run bags through the x-ray, that can slow you down a bit more and it causes crowding even if you aren't picked. A mild annoyance at most, assuming you don't have anything prohibited. |

I don't fly LCCs (though arguably QF in itself is turning into one.)

Thirty at the most.allowing time to get off the plane, change Money if you haven't done already into Singapore Dollars,Customs,Immigration,Baggage Claim,Declaring Medication before going into the arrivals hall to get taxi or transfer to hotel.

Doesn't matter whether you are flying on an LCC or on SQ (who also use T2) its all extra traffic through T2...

There were even people who queued up at the wrong check-in counter  |
Completely agree - immigration has never taken me more than 5 min here in SIN
The only queue can sometimes be for taxis, mostly this is quick, but on a bad day can be 15-20min. No big issue in the grand scheme of things though :) |
I wish more places have immigration counters like Singapore's, because it's never fun to see foreign travellers zoom by in under 5 minutes, while my travelling elsewhere means 30 minutes or more in the queue.

SIN Transfer
I am arriving from CPH on SQ and arrive @05:55. Looking at Valuejet to DPS @ 07:25. Is this connection doable, There is an Air Asia @ 09:15. Would I be safer to book that.
Thanks in advance. |
