SQ346 A380 SIN-ZRH regular delays
I've been monitoring this route for most of August and now September and notice it has regular delays departing from SIN.
I had a booking in late August and you guessed it, my flight was delayed 1.5 hours. Thankfully I made a connection. Other flights depart 2-5+ hours later.
The explanation I received was the aircraft was late arriving from China.
Doing my own research I quickly saw an elephant in the room. For example 9V-SKE landed at 10.29pm and didn't depart until 4.02am (surely it would have made the 1.25am scheduled time). Or 9V-SKR which was in SIN for almost 48 hours 7-9th September prior to SQ346 departure and still failed to depart on time, departing at 4.38am.
There are many more examples. What gives?

I have a flight (ZRH-WAW) following a 2h 30m layover in ZRH after SQ346 so I'm hoping it won't be that bad. The ZRH-WAW leg is with LO on a separate PNR and so I don't have protection.

SQ is very good with interlining, they have done multiple destinations for me many times and all separate tickets. I strongly suggest you get them to do that for you upon checking in in SIN.

He will miss his connection if SQ is more than 2 hours late. And airlines usually make any time lost on the ground in the air. What are his alternatives?

SQ346 was more than 2 hours late on 9 September, 6 September, 3 September, 30 August... That's pretty ugly pattern, don't you agree?

Agreed but how many times a week does this route get a technical issue?

My point was that davidj1's arguing that 9V-SKR was sitting on ground for more than 48 hours was not valid point in his research about how to fix delays...
My other point was that yurtripper will not be protected by having SQ checking his luggage through on separate tickets and that there has been many longer than 2 hours delays.

Not an ugly pattern, 3 times in September and once in August is not an ugly pattern. Now if it happened every day of the month in August and September then I would agree with you that , boy, it sure is UGLY. But its not.
