Official cheap WN transcons thread
Today's Ding sale (through 2 PM Central Time) includes some $52 and $61 fares between San Diego and Ft. Lauderdale. And to think I was upset a few weeks ago at not being able to redeem my NW miles for this trip!
This is the third recent instance of transcon fares in the $50-$60 range, so we can probably expect more of them this winter. Therefore I would like everybody to use this thread to post news of hot transcon fares on WN, Dingo or otherwise.
If you are looking for cheap transcon flights on Southwest, please subscribe to this thread using the Thread Tools pull-down menu just above the first post in the thread.

... and FLL-SAN $44-$49. Wow.
Edited to add:
Taxes on these are $14 each way rather than the $7 I'm used to. Also, look for non-Ding fares. I found a $51 non-Ding fare from FLL to SAN today too!
Edited again to add:
Yesterday's $39 intra-California fares are now $44. And these fares are good through all of December rather than only through December 19th.

SAN-FLL for January is $74.40 including all taxes on the current Internet Special. That's outstanding. Current $39 (=$49.30 total) fares intra-California are also as good as it's going to get with oil at $60 a barrel.

Newest Ding...until 10PM tonight: BWI-DEN $44-49 each way.
I know...not transcon, but I figure its close enough...and getting to Denver from the D.C. area for about $100 is pretty darn good.

Wish I had found this thread earlier! This past weekend they had IAD-DEN for $44-$49 and IAD-LAX for $59-$69.
If you're currently on the BWI ding list, I'd suggest adding IAD. I guess because they're trying to attract more interest in the new service at IAD, the Dings there have been way better than the BWI ones for the last few weeks.
