Trip Report -- Westin Puerto Vallarta -- MANACATION

1st ever trip report -- put your flame throwers for slight burn please !!!

Westin Puerto Vallarta -- Sept 21-24th -- 5 rooms -- 9 guys -- went with my clients to Mexico for a little R&R...

Sept 21

Leave ELP-PVR on AA...got upgrade at the last minute from PVR-DFW -- finished entire stock of Bacardi in First and Econ class...feeling good

Land in PVR and go to the airport. YOu have to get a cab that will take you to the hotel, but it is not very expensive.

SIDE NOTE: Cabdrivers in PVR are very sensitive -- they will stop the cab and tell you to get out if you try to negotaite with them...but all days we found the rates to be the same everytime we went from the Hotel to the downtown...so it was cool....

Check in the hotel...get to the room...nice room ..same as in Los Cabos. Went straight to the pool and jumped in. Got to the swin up bar and ordered a "Michilada con salsa negra" -- if you have not tried it, try it...AWESOME...Also, try the Coconut juice...it is a fresh coconut in which they put a straw and you drink it straight. Ask them to put it in the freezer to cool it down...tastes better.

This was about 4pm...soon all the clients began showing up and we started the drinking and talking.

Approx 8pm we got ready to go to eat...ate at Lalo's and Charlies in downtown...if you have eaten at one...you have eaten at them all....

Got to the ZOO -- excellent place for young people...had a great time and got home approx at 3am...

Sept 22

Woke up at 11am and went down for the buffet breakfast...what a spread...had an omlette, tacos, smoothie...(hungover)...

Then we go to the pool, drink coco juice and michiladas...get lunch at the swim up bar...nothing great...typical food...burgers. pizza, quesadillas...

rented jetskis...approx $40/pp for 30 min....had a blast...

Dinner -- we went to Nikkie Beach...EXPENSIVE and OVERRATED...but since we were there during the slow season, just got a bad impression. If you go during peak season..whole different issue !!!

Nightime -- went to the ZOO and HILO again...those are the two hottest spots...

got home at 4am....

Sept 23rd

Same breakfast spread -- but when you are hungover -- it is great !!

Approx 12pm -- we go to La Jolla de Mismalloya ... I recommend this place if you lOVE fresh seafood...

It is apporx a 5 hr trip...you go on a boat along the coastine, snorkel for 30min and then go the beach to eat freshly caught and grilled seafood...BEST FOOD IN PVR !!!!

It costs us approx $50/pp for the boat, snorkelling, food, drinks....they gave us freshly caught Red Snapper grilled over an open fire with seasoniong....came with rice, beans and tortillas...

Also, we drank beer and cokes...it was very nice...you are on the beach..eating fish tacos....nothing can beat that...

Got back to the hotel approx 6pm and took some rest...for the last night of devastation...

went to eat at HARD ROCK because we wanted to listen to good ole rock'n roll...thery had a live band which was very good but the FOOD SUCKED....do not eat there...and their "yard" of beer is actually a "quarter yard"...

Went to the ZOO againa and then went to Hilo....but Saturday is Local night so it is a totally different atmosphere...still had a good time...

got home at 3am....

Sept 24th

Last day there...flight left at 4pm...so we ate a late breakfast...hung out and then finally checked out at approx 2pm..they charge $10/hr later than 1pm...they give you one hr free...
Airport is 10min away....got upgrade from PVR to DFW and slept the whole flight back...

EXCELLENT trip and since this was all guys...we did go to some other bars..PM if you want more information...

Way to go WESTIN for a great hotel and service....BTW..it aslo did not hurt that we were on a HOT Rate....that is all I am going to say on that topic!!!!

I can just taste those Miceheladas at the Westin. It's a great hotel, if a little off the tourist trek in PV.

Moving this to Trip Reports since there isn't that much information related to the actual hotel
