Still no SQ SIN arrivals lounge in Sept. of '06?
Hi,
I'm flying SQ in J to SIN on the nonstop from EWR in September of 2006, with an early-morning arrival. As most hotels don't have their rooms ready until the afternoon, and SQ seems not to like having arrival lounges unlike some of their competitors (in other markets), I was wondering if anyone had any ideas asides from taking a later flight into SIN. Perhaps any rumors of future SQ arrival lounges being built??
Thanks for the help!

AFAIK there are no arrivals lounges at SIN for any airline. I dont know if the new T3 terminal (which SQ will shift to) will have an arrivals lounge, or if the shift will be by Sept 06.
If you had an onward same day SQ flight (eg to KUL) in suitable class of travel then you could access the lounge on arrival.

I don't think any airlines provide arrive lounges anywhere in Asia, unless you are connecting to other destinations on the same day. It is really only for North American and European markets.
I believe SIN T3 is scheduled to open in early 2008. Not sure if there will be any arrival lounges.

At Chiangi, if you need a place to relax before a your hotel's normal check-in time perhaps you can make use of the outstanding facilities before going through immigrations.
You can get a work out and a shower, perhaps also a massage here:

Or perhaps shopping and eating:

Or maybe you can inquire if these two pay lounges welcome arrival passengers:

Golden Lounge Satellite is open to departing, arriving and transit passengers.
I believe that MH allows J and F international passengers arriving into KUL to use the Golden Lounge:

Also, arrival lounges exist in the South African market:

Finally, UA has arrivals lounges at ORD and SFO:

I'm salivating right now just thinking about the awesome breakfast buffet in the executive lounge at the Conrad.

1. Totally unused tickets (as per current)
2. Partially-used tickets
3. Non-refundable tickets (refunding of taxes & surcharges)

Essentially, you are paying S$75 to use the arrival lounge. Also, I wouldn't use the SIN-KUL fare as there is a S$45 panelty for cancellation within 24 hours of departure even for F fare. Yes, SQ/KL has virtual duopoly on that route.

To avoid the refund fee for cancellation, just keep changing the date to the next time you'll be in SIN...then it works out to $75 for a year
