Honors points to DL skymiles from sep 21
Today I changed my GOLD DL Amex skymiles card to AMEX platinum HHONORS card as they refused to waive my annual fee. I called HHONORS to confirm today about their DL connection and they mentioned that starting Sep 21 we would get opportunity to convert from HHONORS points to DL skymiles. The conversion rate would be known on sep 21 only.

If Delta miles are what you're after, consider the Starwood Amex- it will effectively give you 1.25 Skymiles per dollar spent (if transferred in blocks of 20000 Starpoints). Free for a year and pretty cheap after that.
Alternatively, you could get one of the free Amex cards (blue I think) which allows you to sign up for the free Membership Rewards options (2 MR points = 1 mile). When ready to transfer the points, upgrade to the full membership rewards program and pay the fee to get 1:1 transfers.

Looks like Hilton is adding some "new" partners to its miles and points exchange program and sounds like Delta may be one of them. We may be seeing some participants returning to the program who got dropped previously. September 21st is the rollout date.

From the HHonors link above...
Wow, this is very welcome news, considering that over the past year or so the airline exchange partners has dwindled to SEVEN:
Effective September 21, HHonors offers over 25 partners who exchange points to miles and new partners who exchange miles to points.

Someone please bump this thread on the 21st. I would love it if Delta miles can be once again converted to HH points. I would love it even more if Northwest miles to points gets added.

Please, HH, prove me wrong
Eugene, looks like our expectations are rather guarded.

Judging from what they have now ....
For the miles to points portion:
Judging from what the current partners do, all partners except Lan Chile and Virgin do Miles to Points at a 2:1 ratio .... 5,000 miles = 10,000 points.
Lan Chile and Virgin are at a 1:1 ratio, 10,000 miles=10,000 points
Iffin I were a bettin' man, I'd probably say that if Delta particpates again in the Miles to Points program, it will probably be at the 2:1 ratio ... but then again I could be wrong
For the points to miles portion:
Everyone except Lan Chile is at a 10,000 points = 1,500 miles conversion rate.
My bet is Delta won't diverge from that. It's a crappy deal as far as I'm concerned.

A little off topic, but as of Sept 1, you can now change your MaS points (Sol Melia hotels program) to Delta Skymiles for 3 hotel points to 1 skymile. Maybe a similar ratio will be used for Hilton HHonors.

Klm...
According to Inside Flyer (sept 2004) KML will become a HH partner on Sept 21st...
10 000 HH to 1 000 Flying Dutchman miles, minimum conversion 20 000 HH...
Not a great deal in my opinion...
