AS long haul redemptions with avios
Pricing a redemption seat in Business on the recently launched Alaska Airlines 101 LHR - SEA.
E class open on EF (which is equal to partner business award availability).
95k AS points + $200 on AS website, 57.5k AA miles + , or… 85k avios + $1467.63 (!!!!) as the low-cash Avios options ?
Seems like BA is pricing it is a First class ticket with the requisite avios rates despite it being marketed as a Business class product by AS.
Any advice on the possibility of convincing BA that it is a Business class product? And how to work with the fees?

BA charge you the same taxes & fees you would pay for a cash booking, including the carrier surcharge (YQ/YR). AA and AS generally don't pass through YQ/YR on partner redepemptions hence why it is so much cheaper to book through them.

AA miles is generally better value than Avios as well as always with lower fees. The BA fees are getting completely out of control these days. The uplift for a WT+ to J upgrade these days is often more than the cash difference.
