DM complimentary CLEAR+ membership ending June 1, 2026
Received an e-mail early today that effective June 1, 2026, Clear + membership will be $129 which Delta spins as “SkyMiles® Diamond Medallion®Members will no longer receive a complimentary CLEAR+ membership but will continue to receive the highest discount amount offered to Delta SkyMiles Members”
This further degrades the cobranded AmEx DL Reserve Card as this product doesn’t offer a Clear + membership credit, whereas the AmEx The Platinum Card aka Vanilla Platinum offers up to a $209 statement credit per calendar year. Glad I have the Vanilla Platinum😁

Wow... that'll be the end of my clear usage.
Didn't get the email yet but no way will I be paying 129/yr for that, especially with contactless ID being faster and even the normal precheck lines the same as getting through clear.
I did go to check my Clear membership and it apparently expires in Aug. Went to cancel and they offered 2 extra months free. I'll wait and see the fallout and maybe they'll give more free months

They charged me $169 after my DM status lapsed. The $169 rate is also listed on DL site -- https://www.delta.com/us/en/check-in...security/clear
The no longer have separate rates for PM/GM/SM status.
Didn't really intend to renew, but neglected to turn off auto-renewal on my account.

I Can only surmise that as thankful as Delta AMEX is for its HVCs, they will make the benefit available again for two choice benefits ŕ la Sky Club style. Another included benefit now requiring some type o payment, bravo DL+. AMEX…bravo

Insane. My renewal date is in October and I went to cancel so I don’t forget. Membership stops immediately.

Meh. I’ve probably only been using Clear 1-2 times a year, when touchless ID isn’t available. Usually it happens when I’m traveling with my spouse, who doesn’t have it, but has precheck and we race to see what the outcome is. The most time savings I’ve ever had has been 5 min.

I think there may be a few occasions where I've "saved" more than 5 minutes, but the thing is, it's not a consistent, reliable enough savings to actually change my behavior. I still arrive at the airport at the same time, so any time "savings" is just an illusion. At best you're trading 5 minutes of time staring at your phone while you stand in line for five minutes of time staring at your phone in the lounge or at the gate. And while I'd rather be sitting than standing for those five minutes, I'm not going to pay any actual money for that.

I imagine this will be a huge hit to Clear, assuming Delta was paying for these memberships on behalf of DMs. I imagine most people don't value it enough to pay for it, (including me) as my local airport doesn't even have Clear, (JAX) but I have enjoyed using it when flying out of other airports. Problem is that there's only been approximately a 5 minute savings, (at best) compared to PreCheck.
I won't be renewing at $130/year or whatever the "discounted" DM rate is.
