BA 0005

For 4th December 2026.

It was planned as a 787 now changed to a 777.

Is thus normal?
I had seats reserved and now they have changed because of the different plane.

May change again before your travel date. Pointless to do ASR this far out (as you have experienced).

It happens frequently for a variety of reasons. Planes can be changed at any time up till you leave the runway. Hope you're still happy with your seat.

Seats reserved through status, or paid for ? If paid I would request a refund and I don't think with Club Suite it's necessary or worth paying for seats as none are "bad"

Normal for airlines to be adjusting aircraft types this far out as they balance expected demand and route networks... we've only just started the summer schedule so don't put much weight on the winter schedule types right now.

Happen to me in the other direction a couple of years ago. Booked BA5 in the winter schedule as 777 and a month later (probably about April TBH!) it switched to a 787-8 which was a bit of a downgrade! A350 on the return home was really lush though.
