[Promo] Double SQC on YTZ TB routes for Aeroplan Elite Status Members

Looks like the first bonus SQC promo is out, YTZ- US Routes on Flex fare or above only. Capped at 5000 SQC.

Exclusive offer for Status Members on our new routes
Have you heard the great news? We now have new direct flights from downtown Toronto to the U.S. For a limited time, get double SQC on eligible Air Canada flights between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and Chicago (ORD)‖, Washington (IAD)‖, Boston (BOS)‖ and New York (LGA). Book by April 30, 2026, for travel by August 31, 2026.

Flights include all eligible Air Canada‑operated flights in Flex fares and above, up to 5,000 SQC per member.
No use to me.
Not flying to the US any time soon.

I don't live in YYZ (though I'm here now) and won't travel to the US, but an interesting 1st SQC promo.

You all just receive this?
"Exclusive double SQC offer for Aeroplan Elite Status Members"? Got to check the fares from YTZ and see if its time to book a 'milage run' to get some more SQCs.

Oh, I'm tempted. Even though, YTZ is more of a PITA to get to than YYZ.

Probably moot for me though. Work seems to be slower than molases for travel approvals so I expect it will be May before I find out if I'm going to ORD in June.

$1250 (~$1500-$2000 after tax) for 10,000 SQC.

If it were YTZ-YOW, I might do a couple runs... US only thanks but no thanks (No doubts they are trying to capture some business travellers here but read the room...?)

Eh, pre-clearance just opened at YTZ. Probably trying to get some of the attention related to that more than anything else.

Is Pre-Clearance really that big of a deal?
It makes transfer easier, yes... and it makes YTZ-LGA (or DCA in the future) possible.

for BOS, IAD, ORD, I don't see pre-clearance being a game changer. (And you no longer get to ride the mobile lounges at IAD! bummer)
If I were to connect at these airports, I might save more time by flying directly from YYZ unless you're going to some niche 2nd,3rd tier cities in the US.

I have Nexus, my experience may be a bit bias, if I were a frequent business traveller to the US, I think a Nexus card should be a prerequisite but I digress.

It works alright for Porter, not sure if AC can replicate their moderate success at YTZ.

Pre clearance is actually more annoying for me. Esp when taking early morning flights to US.

I am.. however a bit tempted by this. $500 for 3000 SQC is... acceptable

Moderator note: since the offer appears to be the same for everyone, I've tweaked the thread title to make it clearer as to what the promo is, i.e. specific to US TB routes.

Need to try and seek out the fares that make this a "can't miss" deal, but all of those destinations I would happily visit over the summer.

Since I don't live in downtown Toronto YTZ is a pain in the backside, and I'm no fan of Q400 flights to begin with, so double SQC is nowhere near enough incentive for me. TOTAL FAIL.

"TOTAL FAIL"? Come on. This obviously isn't a promo that was designed to answer a question about how to incentivize elites to fly more in general. The question was clearly something more like "what can we do to advertise and motivate people to fly our new YTZ TB routes?"

Bit tone deaf to promote flights to the US.

For some it is. Just an anecdote, who while YTZ was closer vs YYZ, refused to fly out of there to New York because of the lack of preclearance. She doesn't have Nexus, so probably got stuck in giant US customs line.

Why wouldn't you be able to use the mobile lounges at IAD? Not close to the DASH8 gates? Preclearances is only Canada to US, not the otherway...
