Is AA similar to UA, in that day passes for the lounge are not accepted if the lounge is busy (for some definition of "busy")? Or are they guaranteed-ish entry?

Yes, they can be denied if the lounge is busy.

Even with an AC membership I've been denied access to the MIA D30 club because of maximum capacity, so there's no gaurantee you'll get to use your benefits when you want/can.

Good to know. Probably going to be quite some confusion when these launch with lounge agents.

Yea, I thought AA & Citi had done some enhancements to the AC passes received through these new cards. Otherwise that benefit would be practically worthless with how often clubs restrict day pass entry.

As a member I have had to wait on line for access due to capacity constraints, CLT iirc. But rare. MCO was empty last week, with a big "No day passes" sign on the front door.

Is this what the Aviator Silver will be converted to?

I notice that the annual fee is a bit higher than the Aviator Silver, but they seem to have done a pretty good job replicating (or perhaps even surpassing) the Silver benefits. For those of us with the Silver card, I wonder if it's best to wait and see either it will be converted to this new Citi card, or to go ahead and apply for the new Citi card to take advantage of the sign up bonus?

Interesting that the Splurge Credit does NOT include AA flights like the Citi Strata Elite does...

Yes, especially since UAs mid-tier (Quest) card specifically offers a credit that can be used towards flights.
