BA Lounge Glasgow - Flooded [AUG 6 2025]

I’ve just been evacuated from the BA lounge at Glasgow after the ceiling started leaking a large amount of water. Photos attached.

Here’s hoping a quick solution can be found!

Customers told us they appreciate a cold shower to offset the dry air in the aircraft cabins and we are only too happy to delight them.

I know BA isn’t a dry airline, but come on!

That said, BA staff have been excellent - very professional and vouchers were promptly given out to any passengers who had lounge access.

I’m currently having a meal quite a bit nicer than anything that was available in the lounge itself!

Are these the new showers? They look better than the T5 arrivals ones

I dread to think what's in the ceiling above the lounge given the age of the building.

Will certainly need drying out and potential changes in furniture. Is there any impact on the walkway to the gates as well. It's not exactly a wide route by airport standards.

On a separate note I ironically left my rain jacket there on Monday too which I am still trying to track down. Not been handed in to lost property yet.

A voucher for Ł30 to club Europe passengers which got me a couple of cocktails. Upper deck lounge has sign up saying full but they accepted this walk in.
the video I was shown of the flood looks really bad might be shut for a while!

The door seems to be located at the deep end.

Looks like it was a sunny day at the time and going by the colour and volume of the water, it could be a ruptured mains water pipe

The irony of my GLA to LHR flight on Tuesday being the one that knocks me into OWS territory, then the main lounge I'd use likely to be closed for a while.... haha

You would hope the Lounge won't be closed for more than a few days. Fix pipe, replace that part of ceiling and bin the furnishing. Give floor a wipe. Done.

But no doubt it will be made into a massive drama and the lounge will be closed for weeks. Not BA's fault.

It was a burst pipe. The agent at the doors issuing vouchers had no idea how long it would take to fix, then again I didn't expect her to know, and everybody was asking the same question. Offices on the ground floor beneath the lounge also suffered flooding.
