Interesting that they status match Scandinavians, as most matched from SK, which already is Skyteam. Other than being matched to platinum and being able to book AF F, I don’t really see a value proposition for them. I guess if your SK Gold expired this is a nice way to still have Skyteam elite plus.

I'm pretty sure that "most Scandinavians" haven't done the SK status match The offer is clearly targeting people who don't have SK status.

IIRC the SEN status match was also done via the same partner? Then they would have an easy way to disqualify the matched members.

In the FAQ

  • How long is status valid for if my Status Match request is approved? You will receive status for 12 months upon approval. To retain your Flying Blue status beyond the initial 12-months, you must re-qualify based on meeting the published status program requirements on FlyingBlue.com

After submitting my details of being SEN, I get the option to match to gold or platinum, my choice. Will platinum get approved?

It's on for some countries. I did apply: SEN to Platinum, EUR 349.

Soft landing to Gold (also Skyteam Elite Plus) after 1yr, which is quite easy to preserve (180 XP = 9 return in Eco in Europe with connection, compared with 25 at M&M for SEN).

Does the matched FB Status have a soft landing? I think I read somewhere it doesn't.
