Chase's benefit terms include this misleading sentence:

Any purchases that qualify for the $500 Credit for stays with The Edit will not earn points.
Ultimate Rewards points are earned on The Edit stays. The exclusion applies only to $250 directly offset by the credit.

Any amount above $250 charged to your CSR earns 8x points.

You can split the payment for Edit bookings between cash and points - you can charge $250 to your CSR to get The Edit credit and cover the remaining balance with UR points at a rate of somewhere between 1.6 and 2 cpp. No points are earned when payment is done this way.

Chase EDIT hotels

Regarding booking hotels through the Chase portal...
The hotels that are designated EDIT hotels, you are supposed to get the following:

Daily breakfast for 2
Room upgrade at check-in, if available
$100 property credit (includes dining, spa or other activities at the property)
Early check-in/late check-out, if available
Welcome amenity
Wi-Fi

How does the hotel know that it is supposed to provide these benefits?
Thanks

This is a guess: the reservation is processed with a specific rate code which includes those benefits

Let's hope it is a well educated guess. 😉

It isn't a guess. That's how it works. That's the same way it works for Fine Hotels & Resorts or Hotel Collection bookings via Amex, or if you book a room with Hyatt through the Priv program, etc.

Great! Mia was saying it was a guess... So I'll go with that.
Thank you.

Chase The Edit hotels

I can find a description of the Edit concept and some featured hotels and featured activities at the Chase website. But once logged in how can I search ONLY for The Edit options?

And for anyone who are not aware, Chase is currently running point promotion: if you have the Sapphire Reserve card, each point is worth 2.25c if you redeem for Edit hotels and some other non-Edit hotels too thru Chase Travel portal.

Where / how do you see this redemption value? I'm only seeing 1.5c for redemptions.

Do you have the Sapphire Reserve? If so, when you go into Chase Travel portal and search for hotels, you will see "Points offer" above the hotel name. Those hotels will give you 2.25c redemption rate. On my account, all Edit hotels and some regular hotels qualify for this offer.

that's not helpful. To know if a rumored $250 semi annual credit at these hotels is of value to me I'd need to see the list of hotels - where are they, what do they charge, etc. Is there a way to do that?

Any chance you could post a picture as to where you are seeing this? I got nothing so far after several searches.
